  • You can start collecting Social Security at age 62, but you’ll receive a reduced monthly benefit for the duration of your payments. Waiting until your Full Retirement Age (FRA) allows you to receive unreduced monthly payments. If you were born between 1943 and 1959, your FRA is 66 (increases in two-month increments after 1955). If you were born from 1960 on, your FRA is 67. Use this calculator to estimate your benefit.
